Coworking Palau de la Musica. A German family business wanted to invest in a property in Barcelona. We found a building that suited them very well in terms of size and potential. It was a building with about 20 apartments in varying condition. On the first floor was the special piece: a commercial space with traces of history from the last 600 years.
Coworking Palau de la Musica is located in the center of Barcelona, next to the modernist concert hall of Palau de la Musica, in an old building from the fifteenth century. We have completely renovated the first floor to use it as a workspace.
Five centuries of architectural interventions coexist in this building. Our task was to design a project that respects the past and meets the needs of the present and the future.
Past and present. A medieval brick vault and a 21st century fire protection system live together in this coworking. We love renovating old buildings with a long history. This coworking became a very satisfying project.
